Skelanimals - Dax

You simply cannot deny that he's cute, even when it's not the real thing.

Out of the Frying Pan…

Wed Oct 28, 2009, 5:37 AM
Well, the good news is that I'm all but in the course for the next year, which is awesome for me. Turns out my fantastic writing skills were something I could use to benefit me in the interview for game development, as was my in-passing mentioning that I'm practicing drawing and guitar, although I'm still figuring out how the last two would have affected things.

The less than thrilling news is that I finally got the cost for the course: $13,500. So I'm going to have some fun in the next month or two scraping enough together to start one of the repayment options for that. This would be the 'into the fire' part of the title.

Another thing I wanted to mention, which ties into the title of this entry pretty nicely, is that as much as I've tried to ignore it and revel in how much Winter was carrying over into the last nearly 2 months of Spring with cloudy and dreary weather — my favourite — when I went out the other day to go for a walk and stuff fast food into my face, I came to the yearly irritating realisation: It's Summertime.

No, not the actual season Summer, which isn't due until December, but Summertime. The period in Australia where the daily behaviour I generally enjoy and that no one else would want to do — spending basically all day inside with the curtains closed, wearing about 30% of a full set of clothing and barely moving from a comfortable position, downing can after can of cold soft drinks — becomes the coolest thing in the world to do.

The only difference is that while I basically live like that year round because I enjoy feeling as far away from humanity as possible, people who do this during the Summertime are trying their hardest to keep cool, which makes it even more annoying that they're doing it. Still, I can't completely blame them for doing it; Australia gets HOT this time of year. Hardest part of when I was younger was that temperatures of roughly 40C (that's about 104F for those in the US) didn't make a difference to the fact that this was the time that end-of-year exams took place in schools, and it only gets hotter inside the classrooms, of which only computer rooms had air conditioning.

Thankfully, outside of going to work, shopping, getting new games or the mandatory Christmas breakfast/brunch/lunch/luncheon/dinner/meal/family event, I can just blast up my cooling and wait for the clouds to come back around in March/April.

The worst part of Summertime is when it's sunny for half of the day and then light clouds move in for the rest. Then there's not enough cloud, plus the heat is all trapped underneath and it gets far too stuffy. The only time that works is when the cloud is just thick enough to rain, since the stuffiness is made more bearable when it's humid.

Regards,

≈Roy

That intrigues me about as much as it does you.

Which one came up in the search? I don't recall putting any irrelevant tags on any of my submissions…

It's the Isabella-hugging-Phineas-and-they're-both-sad one. I think it's because it had thw word "mother" in the comments, maybe "3" too, idk.

Yep, had both 'Mother' and '3' in the author notes, but the tags are all fine and clear of it.

How far towards the front of the search did you find it? Since I would imagine that it should be at least a few pages down.

But more importantly, what did you think of it?

Yes, it was quite a few pages into the search! XD Anyways, Yeah, I liked it, although I think Phineas is shorter than Isabella...

Heyy. Me, Nikki Starz, or Perry The Platypus. Whichever goes. I have different usernames for different things. Oh, well.
:iconroy4242:
Hi there. Don't worry, I identify by names these days rather than usernames.
